Born in Portugal to Cape Verdean parents, CARMEN SOUZA fuses her forebear’s musical traditions with contemporary jazz, Latin and European music.

 

In a special show for International Women´s Day, Carmen Souza together with her long-time bass player, composer/producer Theo Pascal and drummer Elias Kacomanolis perform songs from their own repertoire together with music from some of the most important and iconic female voices in the History of Music. From Cesária Évora, Billy Holiday to Nina Simone to Miriam Makeba.
