On June 9th, Danny released the self titled 'Danny Gruff' - which sees the culmination of 10 years relentless touring and songwriting.
Singer/songwriter Danny Gruff was brought up in a small town in North Wales, initially catching the music bug under the influence of his brother’s deep love of 60s pop music.
Since moving to London in 2014, Danny has played an average of 200 gigs a year (281 in 2016), perfecting his craft and blending pop, rock & electronic styles.
In 2015, Danny announced his audacious ONTAW project, in which he released one new track a week for the entire year. 11 months and 3 UK tours later, Danny entered the studio with producer, Andy Hawkins, to start work on his debut album.
The premise for this album was to create something bigger and bolder than previous releases. Songs such as ‘Comfortable’ and ‘After the Storm’ are a nod to classic songwriters such as Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, whereas in songs such as 'Pieces’ and ‘Share the Same Skies’, more unconventional influences are at play.
Danny has played with many respected artists, among them being McFly, Bastille, Frank Turner, Charlie Simpson and The King Blues.
In April, Danny embarked on a 2 week tour of mainland Europe, before heading out on a solo tour across the UK in July. Most of the dates for this tour sold out, well in advance of the gig themselves. In October, Danny will play a small run of shows with a band.
