    Ambient

When trying to tap into the essence of her latest work, Lindgaard describes it as: “electronic, symphonic, poetic and hypnotizing.” all of which go someway to capturing the introspective euphoria of her latest work. Her vocals are at once fragile and floating, but also joyous and uplifting; underneath her voice sits rich, engulfing soundscapes, pulsing synths and cracking beats – it’s a place where ambient, dream pop, electronica and deconstructed club music all coalesce to find a new form.

The music captures a profound sense of intimacy, like having something whispered directly into your ear, but it’s also a vivacious and pulsating record that frequently erupts into throbs of pummelling electronics. The intimacy ultimately stemming from the simple roots of the music.

    Jazz

There’s a new, low-slung rhythm to London’s youth – at its heart is Luke Bower. Much has been made of the emergent musical undercurrent in the nation’s capital, one which is inspiring a wave of new, more free-minded young music fans. Luke – stage name Lucy Lu – is the common thread through much of it. Having cut his teeth on the capital’s new-wave jazz scene, as well as playing lead guitar in Puma Blue and bass with Nilufer Yanya as part of their world-touring live bands, Luke has perfected his sound surrounded by the best in the business.

Bringing that craftsmanship into his own live shows, Lucy Lu channels the energy and musicianship of the likes of Andre 3000 and Pharrell. Lu says, “their brand of pop is very musical, with a lot of character. I feel like they have a wink, a wry side to their music-making. I’m definitely very influenced by that – not taking yourself too seriously but taking the music itself seriously.”

    Electronic Pop

Growing up in the forests of Norway’s Hallingdal Valley, 21 year-old Monika Engeseth nursed the dream – or rather, the conviction – that she’d one day be creating music. But she couldn’t have predicted the intense, electronic landscapes she’d create for her debut EP: after just a few months working in the engine room of music production, the young artist has emerged as a one-woman pop factory.

Two and a half years ago, enrolling on a music production degree in Bergen, Moyka “dived into the synth world”. She was in school from the moment it opened, to the moment it closed, covering herself in the complex electronic landscapes of Röyksopp, Highasakite and AURORA; Robyn, Alt J and Son Lux. Working with Cubase and soft synths and samples, she learned how to create, blow by blow, her own, mystical, synth-driven universe.
