ERIS136199
Lineup:
Han-earl Park(guitar),
Catherine Sikora(saxophone)
Nick Didkovsky(guitar)

The group   Eris 136199  was formed in New York in 2012 and is the quick-reacting cyborg virtuosity of Han-earl Park(Sirene 1009), the mighty melodic imagination and big tenor sound of Catherine Sikora(Clockwork Mercury), and the diamond-cut precision and grind-meets-experimentalism of Nick Didkovsky(Doctor Nerve).

Eris 136199released their second album in 2018: the eponymous Eris 136199(BAF001, 2018), funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign. The followup to their debut Anomic Aphasia(SLAMCD 559, 2015), the album captures the trio during the 2017 European tour. In August 2019, Eris 136199will again tour Europe, performing at Jazz em Agosto, Lisbon, and elsewhere.

Keywords: improvised music, jazz, free jazz, free improvisation, avant-rock, noise, avant-garde, experimental.

“A beautiful noise.” KFJC 89.7 FM

“In a field of experimentation and free music, Eris 136199stands as singular.” The New York City Jazz Record

VORTEX FUNDRAISING T-SHIRTS:

March 2 2018 two iconic musicians and old friends Dave Holland and Evan Parker joined forces in a fundraiser to show, as well as give their support to the Vortex Jazz Club – a fine institution that has help many a musician at the start of their career. The club has existed without any core funding after its establishment by founder David Mossman over twenty-five years ago. The club needs financial help to keep its operations going. We hope you will show your support by taking out a membership, coming to gigs or donating. You can make a donation by clicking the “donate” tab. We also have some new fundraising T-shirts with a fab design that was commissioned by Tim Berne (Snake Oil) with graphics by Steve Byramn.
