Hailing from the coastal haven of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, songwriter-musician Jennah Barry is one of Atlantic Canada’s surest sirens.

Her undeniable, rosewater voice sets a mood wherein even the hardest truths seem palatable.

Moving effortlessly between folk, country and soft rock motifs, Barry’s music, last heard on her instantly classic debut 'Young Men', sets her at the forefront of a tradition of women making music as strong as it is sentimental.

The debut album found Barry perform across Europe and North America, touring in support of Ron Sexsmith, Jenn Grant, David Francey, and Rose Cousins.

Now she returns with her nine-track sophomore album, 'Holiday', with Colin Nealis, her “greatest music partner” – and partner in life – on production duties, following his previous work with Andy Shauf and Aidan Knight, as well as playing in Shauf's project, 'Foxwarren'.

Like all of Barry’s work, 'Holiday' is intimate and intricate, timeless and universal – it sounds like it could’ve come out of Joni Mitchell’s Laurel Canyon as well as the one Jenny Lewis, Faye Webster and Bedouine inhabit now.

“You know when you were a kid, listening to music on headphones, and put your head against the window, pretending to be in a movie?” she says.

“Pretty much everything I write, I want that feeling. I want everyone who listens to lean their head against the backseat of a car, dreaming about their life.”
