ABOUT JOHN MILLER AND HIS COUNTRY CASUALS
John Miller and his Country Casuals are a 5 piece band from Glasgow playing original Country Music in a 50s/60s style combining elements of Honky Tonk, Western Swing and Rockabilly.
Miller has been performing and recording since the mid 1990s. He first came to prominence fronting Glasgow Country Rock band Radio Sweethearts, alongside Teenage Fanclub drummer Francis Macdonald, and now leads John Miller and his Country Casuals comprising Martin Barrett on Guitar, Sy McBain on Double Bass, JT Davidson on Steel and Drummer DC Amero.
Miller has released 6 albums (including 2 with Radio Sweethearts) and has written songs for among others English Folk Darling Kate Rusby and US singer Sheila aNoonan. His music has been used in Film and TV and he was previously voted Scottish Country Singer Of The Year by listeners to BBC Radio.
Miller and his band have appeared on numerous TV and Radio shows and have shared the stage with many top US Country / Americana artists including Dale Watson, Robbie Fulks, BR5-49, Laura Cantrell, The Mavericks and Townes Van Zandt.
Their latest album “Losers Hall Of Fame” was released by The Folk’n’Western Recording Co. on April 15, 2024 and is available on CD, 10” Vinyl and download.
