Belles + Gals Writer's Round

We are delighted to present in association with Belles + Gals a Nashville style 'songwriters in the round' night of Country and Americana music featuring three fast rising artists.

Katee Kross is a 24-year-old singer-songwriter from Bishopbriggs near Glasgow. She has already worked with some top names including Dougie MacLean, Karine Polwart, James Grant, Catherine McGrath, Wildwood Kin, Whispering Bob Harris and Seasick Steve. She has also extensively toured the UK and Germany. Katee has written and released four full length albums. The first three, “Beautiful Dreamer”, “Don’t Fade To Grey” and “Body & Soul” were fully self-funded with the fourth album – “Show Your Hand” – being part funded by Creative Scotland. During the Covid-19 pandemic Katee has been keeping her online music profile with weekly livestreams that have reached 1000’s of people across the globe, as well as recording a new EP which is due for release in May 21. Katee has also organised and ran 3 drive in concerts in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow with another two organised for 2021.

Since signing to respected US label ‘Need To Know Music’ Scottish musician Malcolm MacWatt continues his Celticana journey of discovery with his latest album Settler. Contributions from such luminaries as Gretchen Peters, Laura Cantrell, Eliza Carthy, Kris Drever and Jaimee Harris reflect a collection of songs set on both sides of the Atlantic. Based in London, MacWatt’s story-based material has amassed glowing reviews, a growing following and widespread radio airplay.

Louise Parker has risen to become one of the leading lights of the UK country music scene. In the last year Louise has received nominations for 'UK Country Artist of the Year' and 'UK Female Country Singer of The Year' at the UK Country Music Awards. Three further nominations came in the UK Country Music Spotlight Awards, making the shortlist for 'Best UK Female Artist', 'Best UK Song' ('Lie to Me') and 'Best UK Video' ('Just Friends).

Louise was delighted when 'Lie to Me' was named the song of the year by a Nashville based radio show (Indie Country Radio on Weekdays with Murph) - a commendation from music city itself! These nominations come on the back of incredible chart success in the last 12 months. Louise's first single of 2020, a duet with Joey Clarkson, 'If You Want Me To', reached #4 on the iTunes UK Country Chart, followed by 'Lie to Me' which reached #2. This was followed by 'Just Friends' which once again reached the top 5, coming in at #3. It's been an incredible year for Louise on Spotify, with more than 30,000 streams on the platform. In the last 12 months Louise has released four official music videos, three of which feature on her debut album 'Living in Silver Linings' (released in April)
