Lilla Shy is a London based singer, songwriter and producer who attributes her name to a blanket she’s had since she was born, which became her soft amulet in times of recurring shyness. Wearing it like protective armour, she sings and writes about social anxiety, awkward timidity and solitude, turning her worst introverted traits into her trademark.Lilla started her writing journey in 2017 with EDM releases on labels such as Warner, Sony and Hexagon, but only in July 2022 started her autobiographical artist project. Since then, her songs have gained continuous radio support from John Kennedy at Radio X, Dean Jackson at BBC Introducing, and she has performed them on stages such as The London Palladium (supporting Matteo Bocelli), Secret Garden Party festival and multiple Sofar Sounds all over the UK. She is now building up to her first UK tour this autumn.Lilla’s debut album, ‘Layers’, is due for release on 20th September 2024. It’s a collection of stories in which the artist reveals her own human and musical layers one-by-one. The naive insecure girl meets the strong proud woman, drum’n’bass intertwines with country-esque acoustic guitars, all fused together by the same heartfelt vocals and words. It’s a journey of chasing dreams, losing hope and re-inventing it, learning self-love and beating in sync with someone else’s heart.
