We are delighted to be running our annual Long Room Lunch in the hallowed environs of the spiritual ‘Home of Cricket’. Our 2019 Lord’s Long Room Lunch will see our panel focus on a huge summer of cricket featuring the England vs Australia Test series for the Ashes urn! We have confirmed former England captain and Director of England Cricket, Andrew Strauss, and England’s all-rounder Dominic Cork, and we are now delighted to have added former Australian captain and one of the greatest batsmen in history, Steve Waugh.

This year’s event will see a stellar panel featuring Andrew Strauss, Aussie legend Steve Waugh and Dominic Cork, discussing their careers and giving their thoughts on the thrilling prospect of the upcoming Test series against Australia for the Ashes. Another topic for the discussion will be the upcoming World Cup Final which is set it take place later in the week, and a review of England’s progress in the tournament.

Our host for the day is SKY Sports’ David Fulton, and with a delicious lunch and complimentary bar, and a live performance from opera singer, this is a day that will live long in the memory for your guests.

The Long Room at Lords: Renowned as “the most evocative four walls in the world of cricket”, the Long Room in the Lords Pavilion has been at the epicentre of the game for time immemorial. Artwork from across the centuries adorns every wall, with the haughty gazes of the likes of WG Grace and Sir Jack Hobbs mingling with more modern icons of the game, such as Sir Ian Botham and Shane Warne. The service and catering in the Long Room are of the very highest calibre, as befits such a magnificent venue; you and your guests are sure to be enchanted by the whole experience.

Andrew Strauss: A giant of the English game in recent decades, Andrew Strauss is one of the finest captains the England team has ever had and a veteran of three Ashes-winning sides. In all Andrew played 100 Tests with an average of 41, with 21 centuries and a top score of 177 against New Zealand in 2008, as well as 127 ODIs with an average of 35.

Dominic Cork: A highly talented and combative all-rounder, Dominic made his England One Day debut aged just 21 back in 1992, and after making his Test debut three years later, went on to play 37 Tests, as well as 32 ODIs in total. His bowling average in Test cricket lies just below the magic 30 mark, making him one of the most successful bowlers of his era.
