Comedy phenomenon Luisa Omielan is bringing her smash hit show 'Am I Right Ladies!?' to Manchester.

Her first show 'What Would Beyonce Do?!' was hailed as 'one of the biggest stand up hits of the last decade’ (The Guardian) and was launched on BBC3 as a stand up special and this is the follow up!

Her joke on the Thigh Gap went viral with currently over 40 million views. If you like this [https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=941499742548551] you will LOVE the show. It's a party with jokes in!

Nominated for Best Comedy Show in Melbourne, sold out tours in 12 countries, released a book, crowdfunded a DVD and changed the face of comedy. There's no stopping Luisa. This is a one off special, book early to avoid disappointment.

“You’ll have the time of your life and you’ll owe it all to her” – ★★★★★ Chortle

Subject: IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT TICKETS FOR LUISA OMIELAN’S 'AM I RIGHT LADIES?!'

We would like to let you know that it will be a different show compared to the one which you may be expecting. In July this year, Luisa’s mother sadly passed away after a short but brutal battle with cancer. 'Am I Right Ladies' centres heavily around Luisa’s mum, and their relationship, and at this time it is difficult for Luisa to perform these particular routines on stage.

A message from Luisa:

Hey guys, thanks so much for buying a ticket and supporting my live shows. I’m sorry but I can’t do the full 'Am I Right Ladies' show. It’s exhausting for me mentally and physically.

However, I still want to come out and perform some of the routines of the show for you, maybe some new stuff and I’d like to talk about my recent experiences - it’s funny, and poignant (I hope!).

I love doing comedy, I adore being on stage and my Mum wanted me to keep performing, so I will. I just want to be honest with you regarding the content.

    Comedy

Described as one of ‘the UK's best comedy festivals’ by the Skinny, Greater Manchester’s Women In Comedy Festival is Europes only comedy festival dedicated to gender equality.

A ‘brilliant, brilliant festival’, full to the brim with female comedic talent. ‘Get it booked, get on down’ is the recommendation from City Life.

The Women In Comedy Festival, produced by Dulcet Sounds, takes place annually in Greater Manchester, UK during October.

‘Set up as a reaction to the sidelining of women comics by club owners back in the day, Manchester’s homegrown Women In Comedy Festival (set up by Hazel O’Keefe) has found its feet in a very short space of time - attracting the likes of actress Maxine Peake as a patron, joining Jo Enright and Isy Suttie.’ M.E.N

Building on the success of Laughing Cows Comedy Night, the Festival launched in 2013 as a volunteer-led festival presenting both established and up and coming talent across the spectrum of stand up comedy, comedy theatre, improv performing arts, film, spoken work, comedy writing and visual arts.

The fifth annual 2017 Women In Comedy Festival will take place from Thursday 19th until Sunday 29th October 2017

Actor Maxine Peake joined the team of festival patrons last year. “I’m proud to be supporting the UK Women in Comedy Festival as a patron. A festival filled with laughter combined with feminist principles taking place in the North … what’s not to support!”

The festival has grown steadily over the years since the first event in 2013 and encompasses solo shows, open mic events, a comedy writing competition showcases, galas, symposiums, networking events, training, panels, debates and workshops. The Women In Comedy Festival also offers training and mentorship opportunities with industry professionals and other leading creative organisations.

‘It’s a very positive event, attracting massive headline acts.’ (Manchester Evening News)
