ABOUT THE SHOW:
Living on the Edge is the new show from comedian Maisie Adam. Having previewed to a sold-out crowd at the 2016 Ilkley Fringe and currently touring the UK comedy circuit, the show's eclectic mix of anecdotal and observational material along with Maisie’s self-deprecating charm has quickly won her praise across the country. Taken from personal experiences of being a young Yorkshire lass attempting to "adult" in the big wide world, Living on the Edge explores various topics including the classic faux-pas of a Brit abroad, the politics of the playground and the fascinating spectacle that is Theresa May's body posture.
ABOUT THE COMEDIAN:
Maisie Adam is a young female comedian from Yorkshire. Having only been on the circuit for just over a year, her anecdotal material and self-deprecating charm have quickly won her praise up and down the country. After previewing her first stand-up show to a packed crowd at the Ilkley Fringe, she is currently touring “Living on the Edge” around theatres, festivals and comedy nights across the UK, with the show being nominated for Best New Comedy at the 2017 Brighton Fringe.
In August, Maisie won the nationwide So You Think You’re Funny? competition at the 2017 Edinurgh Fringe, becoming only the 4th woman to do so it its’ 30 year history. She has since appeared on The Steohen K Amos Talk Show, BBC Radio 2, and has appeared alongside Josie Lawrence and Dan Antopolski. She has opened for Lloyd Griffith, Gavin Webster (Never Mind The Buzzcocks and I, Daniel Blake) and Keiran Lawless (Patrick Kielty tour support).
She is a comedian who leaves the audience belly laughing, giving standing ovations, throwing roses onstage, naming their babies after her - but most importantly, she is a comedian who never exaggerates.
"Maisie Adam is the newest, sharpest and most hilarious voice of her generation…one of the UK’s most exciting new comedians." - Ditto Theatre.
“Maisie's stories are really well observed, with a warmth rather than a criticism of the folk she bumps into. Her self-deprecation is charmingly funny - and it was refreshing not to have a load of swearing. She was fabulous, warm and well-researched." – Helen Toft, Otley
“Maisie Adam absolutely killed it, best stand-up I’ve seen in years” – Sham City Roasters
“Incredible. What an act and what a presence!” – Southend Fringe Festival.
“Very funny - one to watch out for!” – Bath Comedy Festival.
Nominated for Best New Comedy Award, Brighton Fringe.
