Maurizio Grondona - Guitar

Nicky Belviso - Bass

Giuseppe Grondona - Drums

Dave Browning - Keys

Influenced by numerous American jazz greats including Wes Montgomery, Pat Metheny and Al Jarreau, Maurizio also counts among his mentors hip-hop, soul acts such as Grammy winners The Roots (Jimmy Fallon's House Band), the late renowned producer J Dilla, De La Sou, Busta Rhymes and Erykah Badu. The result of such a diverse musical education is cosmopolitan American jazz with a decidedly Mediterranean flavor. The Maurizio Grondona Group has been featured at numerous well regarded jazz festivals and showcases including Milan SIM, Jazz for Amnesty International, Vieste Festival, Golden Lion in Venice and was highlighted in Los Angeles at Thursday Night Vibes (past performances include Al Jarred, Marcus Miller, Paul Jackson Jr). In addition the group has appeared at the prestigious Los Angeles Indie Music Film International Summit. Their performance at The Vortex will be their second show in London.

VORTEX FUNDRAISING T-SHIRTS:

March 2 2018 two iconic musicians and old friends Dave Holland and Evan Parker joined forces in a fundraiser to show, as well as give their support to the Vortex Jazz Club – a fine institution that has help many a musician at the start of their career. The club has existed without any core funding after its establishment by founder David Mossman over twenty-five years ago. The club needs financial help to keep its operations going. We hope you will show your support by taking out a membership, coming to gigs or donating. You can make a donation by clicking the “donate” tab. We also have some new fundraising T-shirts with a fab design that was commissioned by Tim Berne (Snake Oil) with graphics by Steve Byramn.
