After a 12-year hiatus, Mohair return to play a one-off show at The Borderline - their first live appearance since 2007.
The band formed in Watford in 1998 and spent the next 9 years endlessly on the road, racking up over 1000 performances throughout the UK, Europe and USA.
Their debut album ‘Small Talk’ was released on Ear Candy Records in April 2006 and spawned the singles ‘End of the Line’, ‘Stranded’, ‘Life’, ‘Everything I Want’ and ‘Talk of the Town’. Mohair found themselves back in the studio self-producing their second album, but parted ways in September 2007 following a final show in St Albans.
In the intervening years, the band have separately plied their wares in the music industry, working with artists including The Staves, Billington & Quinn, The Bluetones, Gary Numan, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Joan Armatrading and others.
Tom Billington (Vocals/Guitar):
“We went through a lot together but we’ve all been through so much more since. Children, marriages, near death experiences... It’s going to be amazing to see what that adds up to when we play together again”
It seems 12 years was exactly the break that Mohair needed - The Borderline show will hopefully be a triumphant return to form (and a celebration of everything they were about).
