Moose Knuckle is the roaring embodiment of rock’s reckless abandon, a tongue-in-cheek riot of sound that crashes through the boundaries of punk, post-punk, and their self-coined “Hunk Rock.” Hailing from Leeds, England, this four-piece outfit blends the raw energy of rock with the unabashed swagger of punk, creating an explosive cocktail that’s equal parts chaos and camaraderie.
Moose Knuckle is more than just a band; it’s an ode to every hard-hitting power chord and unapologetic scream that dared to defy convention. Their music, a pulse-pounding journey through the underbelly of rock, is as much a commentary on modern-day disillusionment as it is a celebration of the sheer joy of making noise. This isn’t just rock; this is Moose Knuckle.
There are two versions of Perennial: the adventurous art-punk modernists, layering British Invasion pop, 60s soul, 90s Dischord post-hardcore, electronic music, and free-jazz, and the live three-piece whose bombastic 20 minute sets have become a “must-see” in the New England music scene. What started in 2015 as an all-encompassing art project has since grown into an honest-to-goodness word-of-mouth phenomenon, with over 300 shows played in the last six years (including shows with Guerilla Toss, Bully, Calvin Johnson, Jon Spencer, Sheer Mag, Teenage Halloween, and Downtown Boys) and multiple pressings of both of their full-length records. Perennial formed the band they always wanted to hear, and when they play, they're the band they always wanted to see.
JUKU is the musical equivalent of a sturdy battering ram. An immediate, gargantuan wall of devastating sonic waves, topped off with a haunting, reverb-drenched vocal. Musically, they blend harsh grunge sounds with post-punk and energetic garage punk, to form a sound that is capable of crossing over into many genres. Precise dynamics, razor-sharp riffs and absolute euphoric energy course through JUKU's veins, which makes it an engrossing and explosive act, for anyone who comes to watch them play.
