    Papooz

    Baroque Pop

It was spring 2015 that we heard Papooz for the first time. The melody is sweet, the rhythm swaying, the spirit pop with a little something else exotic. The title was Ann Wants To Dance, and it made our summer, ideally placed between showers and thunderstorms. Difficult on the other hand to imagine the origin of the group. The androgynous voice, in the treble, is not fundamentally identifiable, man or woman? And which country? It's English pop, but with the lascivious nonchalance of a piece of Bossa Nova. Finally, no need to go around the world, these are our neighbors. Parisian duo with voices, Ulysse and Armand, the twenties began, both bathed in the music of the 70's Anglo-Saxon, rocked by the records of the Beach Boys and Velvet Underground that were listened to by their parents.

It is not surprising that they discovered, teenagers, a common passion for music, modeling their first acoustic tracks on a forgotten computer. Why Papooz? It sounded good, with an exotic touch that delighted them, like an Indian cradle.

Today ten titles have been added to the jewel "Ann Wants To Dance" in anticipation of a first album, mature and light at a time, which will be released in June 2016.
