“Country music in the UK has come of age in the last year and Raintown are front-and-centre in that surge. The new album is simply superb.” - John Collins - Presenter, Bauer City Network 2

From late 2015 and through 2016, their live reputation continued to grow with performances that included, a successful UK tour, Glasgow’s Country2Country ‘King Tuts Stage, headlining at the Buckle and Boots Festival, supporting both Runrig at the iconic Shepherd’s Bush Empire and American, Josh Kelley in Glasgow.

Raintown have shown that talent, ambition and honesty can still prevail in an ever changing music industry. They deliver a startling take on UK contemporary country that is both firmly-rooted and unashamedly forward-thinking. This is NOT your twangy traditional country but a fresh, modern and dynamic sound from an act that are not afraid of doing something left of centre e.g. their phenomenal cover of BLUE’s ‘One Love!’

‘Writing on the Wall’ - their 5 star rated album - captures the raw energy, chemistry and spirit of their live shows. That’s where Raintown truly come alive, with a polished mix of bright, guitar-led, Country/Pop, up-tempo Celtic Rock and melodic heartfelt ballads; all arranged around the superb harmonies of two voices that were born to mesh.

“It is very,very good.” - Bob Harris – Radio2

Paul Bain and Claire McArthur-Bain, are more than just a love story, they fuse their passion for Country Music with their eclectic musical influences and continue the tradition of exciting new music to emerge from Glasgow. Their electrifying live performances and sensational new music have elevated this impressive duo to new heights and cemented their place as one of the UK’s leading ‘new breed’ of Country acts alongside the likes of The Shires and Ward Thomas.

“Everyone’s talking about Raintown.” - Baylen Leonard – BBC Radio 2 Country / Amazing Radio
