The London International Ska Fetival returns to the capital for it’s last edition this coming Easter, 6th-9th April 2023, for it’s 35th anniversary! Once again celebrating ska music and it’s journey through rocksteady, reggae, dub, 2 Tone and beyond, with 100 bands, singers & DJs plus fans from around the world.
The closing party of the last London Int’l Ska Festival is set to take place at The Garage in Islington with one of our favourite London crews - The mighty Solution Sound System with full sound system and crew. Anyone attending the 2016 festival will remember their once in a lifetime night which starred the legendary U-Roy on their sound!
Solution Sound System have been a consistent fixture on the scene since the tail end of the 90’s delivering world class roots reggae, dub & revival sounds. Having played alongside some of the UK’s biggest sounds including Saxon, Sir Coxsone, Channel One, Jah Youth and Aba-Shanti-I. In 2012 years of hard work was rewarded with the ultimate acknowledgement as Solution were granted the honour of taking over from Jah Observer at their legendary spot in London’s Notting Hill Carnival. Entrusted with the task of ensuring that roots music of high quality continues to play, they have not disappointed and have been praised for keeping the spirit of this very special corner of carnival alive. A typical Solution set will take in everything from foundation Studio One to today’s freshest musical produce, including material from Mark Solution’s spin off label, Easy Beat Productions.
