(full details available at www.justgiving.com/page/rumbleonthetyne)
Opening up the show, The Mystery Train Riders will most definitely keep the night on “track” with their professional and high-energy approach to the genre. Recently finishing their first mini UK tour, these boys are labelled as “THE upcoming rockabilly band of the North East” and “a breath of fresh air” to the rockabilly scene, and are a band NOT to be missed!
Performing their red-hot authentic rockabilly show across the world since the mid 80’s, we’re extremely honoured to announce that the legendary Sure Shots will be headlining this exclusive show. Within two years, press exposure led to the boys first prime-time TV slot for the BBC. Coincidentally a French promoter saw the show and booked the band for a festival in Bordeaux, so the doors to Europe were opened and they have not closed yet, as the band still tour constantly, much to the delight of an ever-growing army of followers.
In 1994, they were voted “Rockin' Band of the Year” by the readers of the German Stompin' News Magazine. In November ’97, their hunger for performing resulted in their biggest tour yet, gruelling 32 dates, 10 countries in 34 days, including some TV work and a spell in a recording studio in Sweden. The Sure Shots have been booked to back or support some Rock 'n' Rolls greats like Sonny Burges, Jimmy Wages, Hayden Thompson, Charlie Feathers, Johnny Carroll, Jackie Lee Cochran, Sleepy La Beef, Tony Conn, Terry Dene, Johnny Powers, Freddie Fingers Lee, and the one and only Carl Perkins.
Come along to see what all the fuss is about, gotta be quick… we’re predicting a SELL–OUT event, so grab your tickets early to avoid disappointment…
