“London’s finest roots orchestra!” – VIVE LE ROCK

Paul-Ronney Angel and his family of suberbly talented musical miscreants have spent the last 16 years bringing the bible black and blood red music they call Bourbon Soaked Gypsy Blues Bop’n’Stroll to the people!

They have released several critically acclaimed and award winning albums and toured with the likes of The Pogues and New York Dolls. They’ve played Glastonbury, Download, Latitude, Bestival (UK), Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Sjock (Belgium), Sziget (Czech Repulbic) and Lviv Stadium (Ukraine) to name just a few!

They have also hosted their legendary Gypsy Hotel Club parties as a regular monthly event in London with stopovers in Berlin, New Orleans, Paris and Oslo whilst keeping a busy UK and European touring schedule.

“mariachi-influenced blues, whiskey-soaked country rags and punkabilly-style rave-ups” – THE WASHINGTON POST

2019 saw the release of ‘The Urban Voodoo Machine’s Friends And Family Album Vol 1’ – a collection of 15 artists covering their songs: Wilko Johnson, TV Smith, Jim Jones, Future Shape Of Sound, and Big Boy Bloater to name a few. P-R Angel said about the album ‘I’m fucking humbled and honoured that so many great artists have covered songs I’ve written!

2019 also marks the end of another decade and the band was happily surprised to find that their 2014 album, Love, Drink & Death! had been nominated for Album Of The Decade by Classic Rock Magazine.

Spring 2020 will see the release of their 5th studio album, $nake Oi£ Engine – single ‘Johnny Foreigner’ and the fact that the remaining dates of this year is called The Fuck Brexit Tour should give you an idea where the band is at the moment – or rather where the world is at the moment.

The Urban Voodoo Machine has got plenty to say about where the world is at the moment, but hey – you can still have a good time even if you got the blues!

Shaking a fistful of dynamite and a death rattle, …….towards the powers that be!

“A great mix of Preservation Hall jazz, Eastern European folk and rock’n’roll – ROCK & REEL

“furiously energetic and versatile” – THE GUARDIAN

“Drawing deep from a dirty well where Tom Waits, Nick Cave and Dick Dale are enjoying a burlesque all-nighter with Ennio Morricone.” — CLASSIC ROCK
