The Invisible Hand Theatre Company presents:
Women InTents - The Perfect Pitch

A comedy based on female same sex relationships.

At Tribeca Manchester, the play is part of a whole evening of entertainment: Featuring a performance by Alabaster Queen, DJ set with Sandra D and drag queen Xander as MC.

Women InTents follows a writer who has recently come out of a relationship and tends to hide behind her characters and stories in a bid to shy away from her life and issues. The play has s a modern twist using the technology of today - introducing the character Sappho (based on Alexa/Siri) as our guide through the production. Throughout the play the writer goes on a voyage of self-discovery of her own life and love. This is a beautiful and charming love story looking at the highs and lows of relationships.

The play is quick witted and fast paced with some moving moments and is an uplifting view of female relationships. To finish this lively performance there is an original song written for the piece entitled ‘The Five Finger Pitch’, sung by the cast live on stage. The original idea by Katie Marks and developed by Katheryn Siggers who brought the song to life beautifully and plays the guitar live in the performance.

The play has its own original soundtrack, provided by none other than The Alabaster Queen herself. Giving the performance the musicality it requires to enthral audiences.

The play opened to a packed theatre at L Fest Lesbian Festival in Llandudno in July, received rave reviews in a Cardiff preview and now comes to Manchester's Tribeca.

“The Characters were so real, people could identify with them”, “Entertaining and Funny”, “I definitely feel I was witnessing a bit of History”. Audience member from Cardiff review.

"She can’t help brimming over with child-like enthusiasm." Time Out

DJ Sandra D has recently returned North, to Manchester, from the bright lights of the capital. She has been linked to many successful venues and nights. Here are just a few: Ruby Tuesdays, GrlWld, Tribeca Manchester, Ku Bar, Candy Bar, Scala, Miss-Shapes, Popstarz, Ghetto. 2011 was a monumental year with the TV show Candy Bar Girls, following the lives and loves of London lesbians and herself in her role as DJ and Promoter of Candy Bar.

She first made a name for herself on the gay alternative scene as a popular, lesbian DJ at Popstarz and Ghetto. Having played at some influential nights on the gay alternative scene, she moved into promotional roles at those clubs after gaining experience in the role of Promotions Manager of Candy. She is now DJing in venues around Manchester and at the Queer Indie Alternative at Tribeca with Hazel O'Keefe.
