A CELEBRATION OF PROCOL HARUM

In April 1967, Procol Harum entered Olympic Studios in London to record their debut single, "A Whiter Shade of Pale".

They were joined by producer Denny Cordell, and sound engineer Keith Grant.

An enthusiastic response from listeners of the pirate radio station Radio London prompted Deram Records to rush-release the single for 12 May 1967. It was an instant worldwide success, reaching No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart for six weeks and the same spot in eleven countries.

In three weeks, it became the fastest selling record by a new group. The song has now sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Now over half a Century later.

Procol Harum has recorded and remained in the public eye since 1967. The band has had many line-up changes over the years but the mainstay was always Gary Brooker.

Sadly, on 19th February 2022 Gary Brooker passed away and with his passing Procol Harum was laid to rest.

Back in the early 1990's Iconic British drummer Mark Brzezicki joined Procol Harum and what was to become a working relationship for almost two decades. Touring Worldwide and recording. During this period Mark played with all of the Original members including Gary Brooker, Mathew Fisher and Robin Trower. Mark performed on Procol Harum albums, Within our House, The Prodigal Stranger, The Wells on Fire, Live at Union Chapel, and Procol Harum Live with the Danish National Orchestra.

In late 2022 Mark decided to re-ignite the Procol Harum fire and put together a band to continue and perform the Legacy that Gary had created.

Simon Hough from Big Country joins the ranks as lead Vocalist. Several years ago, Simon also teamed up with Matt Pegg, another Procol Harum Veteran of almost 30 years to perform a collective set of their careers including PH classics.

The show is named simply A Celebration of PROCOL HARUM.
