An epic absurdist comedy where a Town Crier and a Court Jester walk into the future, a King falls, and a Dragon says no to a strange business pitch.

Why do we tell stories? How do we build ourselves a future? What, or who, is in the way?

A medieval Town Crier and a Court Jester have lost their jobs - by accidentally going to the future and leaving a rather important individual behind.

They want to teach you how to tell a joke - although they should be creating a sustainable, ethical, modern business pitch. Either way, they must stop crying, stop laughing, and figure out how we got here.

CRY/LAUGH is a wacky and charming journey through time that delves into storytelling and traditions. The rest is… stuffing.

All tickets include food and drink. Please choose the relevant food option when booking tickets.

Gluten-free meat option: Please note that, whilst we take all reasonable precautions to avoid cross-contamination, we operate in a mixed used kitchen that contains gluten and wheat products. We do not recommend that those with severe intolerances consume the gluten-free pie as we cannot guarantee they are free from all traces.
Gluten-free vegetarian option available on request.

Play Only Tickets:
Students – Discounted play only ticket available with a valid student ID (physical or digital).

Arts Workers – Discounted play only ticket available with a valid BECTU, EQUITY, Scottish Society of Playwrights membership, or staff card from a publicly funded arts organisation.

Low Income or Unemployed – Discounted play only tickets for audience members who are on a low household income, unemployed or receiving low income benefits. 

If you book a discounted play only ticket, we may follow up by email with a quick form for you to complete to check which of the eligible options you are for data collection purposes.
