Presenting the strange world of German rock pioneers Amon Düül II.
Born out of an artistic and political community, the highly individual collective of psychedelic experimentalists were at the forefront of the post-war, music-led West German cultural renewal that included the likes of Can, Kraftwerk and Neu!.
Wishing to break away from the mainstream tendencies of Anglo-America, they provided an alternative energy with unfettered experimentation and free musical improvisation – an inherently German sounding musical phenomenon.
Still comprising many of the original members, including founder John Weinzierl, the ground-breaking group make a long-awaited and extremely rare London appearance on Thursday 17 March 2022.
Line up:
Renate Kroetenschwanz - Vocals
Chris Karrer - Guitar
Danny Fichelscher - Drums
Jan Kahlert - Percussion
John Weinzierl - Guitar/Synths
Ulli Linzen - Keys
