Anoushka Lucas is a singer, songwriter, actor and playwright. She has been writing songs since the age of 14 and has been described by Jamie Callum as “an exceptional voice and a great songwriter” (BBC Introducing 2017). Her debut album, Dark Soul, was produced by Martin Terefe (Jamie Cullum, KT Tunstall, Martha Wainwright) and was released in July 2019. She is currently working on her second album.
Anoushka began her career in theatre as a composer/songwriter. Her first score was for Ché Walker’s Klook’s Last Stand, which opened at London’s Park Theatre before being picked as a finalist at the NAMT Festival in New York. Anoushka and Ché went on to create a second musical, The Etienne Sisters, which was staged at Theatre Royal Stratford East.
In 2018, she composed the music for and appeared alongside Jessica Butcher in their original show Sparks, which won Best Musical of the Edinburgh Fringe before being adapted for BBC Radio 4.
Anoushka (piano and voice) is accompanied by Ben Reed on bass and Yusuf Ahmed on drums.
Louella Lucas is an independent singer/songwriter based in West London. Inspired by the likes of Laura Marling, Amy Winehouse and Éloise, her music has been described as ‘soul stirring’, ‘witty’ and ‘haunting’. Her debut EP ‘Further Away’ explores themes of love, loss and growth and was written over Lucas’ time at university. Louella is thrilled to debut some of these tracks alongside Liz Blackwell on bass and Karisma Drage on drums, ahead of the project’s release in late September.
