Nova Twins are a genre-bending duo consisting of lead vocalist/guitarist Amy Love & bassist Georgia South. Innovative in every element of what they do as artists, whether that’s performing to moshing crowds & packed out tents, art directing their own music videos or designing & making their outfits for all photoshoots & stage-wear. Described as “devilishly-heavy & vivid punk-rock” by NME, “grunge-pop” by the Independent & “amalgamation of raw punk energy, illegal rave electronics & unapologetic grimey attitude” by PRS.
Their debut album Who Are The Girls? produced by Jim Abbiss (Adele, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian) was released to critical acclaim from publications such as Clash, Kerrang, Dork, NME & Alternative Press. Lead singles ‘Devil’s Face’, ‘Vortex’, ‘Taxi’ & ‘Play Fair’ have received spins on BBC Radio 1 from Annie Mac, Daniel P Carter & Jack Saunders, as well as BBC Radio 6 from Iggy Pop & Tom Robinson.
On tour they’ve supported Wolf Alice, Prophets of Rage, Skunk Anansie & have been invited to support Enter Shikari 2021. Previous festivals bookings have included Boomtown, Download & Hellfest. 2021 will (covid depending) see slots at Reading & Leeds and Lowlands amongst many others.
In 2019 Nova Twins were the face of Dr. Martens Alternative A/W campaign & played alongside Fever 333 during their BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale session. In 2020, they won Best UK Breakthrough Band at the Heavy Music Awards. Later that year, they collaborated with Bring Me The Horizon on track ‘1X1’, taken from the No. 1 album - Post Human : Survival Horror. Nova Twins started 2021 with a remix of Gang of Four ‘Where the Nightingale Sings’ alongside Massive Attack‘s 3D/Robert Del Naja. -

Fat Dog are one of London’s most exciting new bands, conjuring the sort of frenzied and wild live shows not seen in the capital for years. Their debut album WOOF. is a brilliant and mind-bending blend of electro-punk, rock’n’roll snarling, techno soundscapes, industrial-pop and rave euphoria, music for letting go to or, in the words of frontman Joe Love, “screaming-into-a-pillow music”.

Divorce cite a broad range of influences, from contemporary indie heavyweights like Mitski,
and Big Thief, to cult icons such as Tom Waits and LCD Soundsystem.
The Nottingham band burst onto the scene in 2022 with their explosive debut EP ‘Get Mean’
and continued to expand their horizons with their second EP ‘Heady Metal’, acquiring key
champions at press and radio. Moving strength to strength, they returned in 2024 with their
now widely loved single ‘Gears’, and soon followed up with the indie-anthem ‘My Room’,
cementing their status as one of the most exciting UK artists to watch out for.
Trademark theatricality is at the forefront of every Divorce performance. With every fanciful
music video, alongside consistent displays of outstanding musicality at live shows, the band
have captivated audiences of thousands across the U.K and Europe. With a prolific live
schedule and sold out tours under their belts, Divorce promise greatness with their debut
album ‘Drive to Goldenhammer’ set for release March 2025. -

Bess Hildick-Smith, known by her stage name as Bess Atwell, grew up in the English countryside, one of four children to an eclectic family of artists, songwriters and doctors. Growing up Atwell dabbled in acting, musical theatre, and fine art. She says “the love of singing is something I think most people realise at a very young age. I grew up in a creative household; many of my extended family are musicians, my dad a songwriter himself, and mother an artist”. She explains how her earliest years were spent assuming she’d follow in her mother’s footsteps, and still considers fine art her first love. She discovered song-writing a little later; “when I was ten my dad bought me a Spanish guitar and we both took lessons with the same teacher. I didn’t like being given homework and didn’t see much fun in the instrument on its own, so it was a few years later that I picked it up again and decided to sing, and eventually write my own songs”.
At the age of thirteen, just as she was finding her footing as a songwriter, Atwell was offered a drama scholarship to a competitive private school. While acknowledging the privilege she’s had, she cites her experience at school as the cause of a substantial loss of confidence; “It was a difficult few years for various reasons, and at school I was either invisible or in a lot of trouble which didn’t help. I didn’t fit their cookie cutter ideal, so I was constantly getting the message that there was something wrong with me”. After graduating from school, she enrolled on a music degree at Falmouth University but soon withdrew to pursue music nearer London.
In 2015, not long after dropping out of university, Atwell garnered the attention of major news outlets after a slew of showcases for The Great Escape Festival. The Independent and The Guardian were amongst those who were impressed by the artist’s performances, describing her as “a promising folk poet of suppression and inner anxiety” and “a gifted singer-songwriter with a voice like slow, cool water”.
The new music is the first since her 2016 debut album. The record included the single ‘Cobbled Streets’ and saw Atwell attract the attention of critics and public alike while picking up radio plays on BBC Radio One, Two and Six Music together with live sessions for Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley’s shows. Atwell spent the following year gigging, including several sold out headline shows, and returning to festival favourites such as The Great Escape and Green Man.
Two years on, the former solo project has evolved into a full band sound soaked in four-part vocal harmony fulfilling Atwell’s desire to create a more dynamic live show, with traces of traditional folk music. The band took some time out to work on new material in their hometown of Brighton. Though the prospect of taking a step back was a daunting move for the songwriter, it provided the necessary space to re-evaluate and create. On speaking to Pure M Zine about the new material she expressed that there were a few years she felt the genre ‘folk’ had become almost a dirty word; something that had been taken from “timeless to something fashionable, and the problem with fashion is that it goes out of fashion eventually”. The time off allowed the songwriter to develop a more refined, assured sound by falling back in love with folk music and learning to incorporate it with newer indie-rock influences.
Atwell’s latest single ‘Grace’ is the more restrained, intimate successor of her August offering ‘Swimming Pool’, both of which have been playlisted by BBC Radio 6 Music. Taking inspiration from the likes of The National, Fleet Foxes, Lucy Dacus and Soccor Mommy, to name just a few, the new music attempts to depict the friction between fantastical, escapist imagery and the realities of relationships. Atwell says “I’ll tend to take a more romantic, digestible subject as a starting point, but I admire artists who’re able to get very personal and specific, lyrically – it’s a muscle I’m learning to flex. While Grace is fundamentally a love song about accepting someone at their worst, I think all love songs ultimately say much more about the writer than the subject”.
Having written ‘Grace’ almost two years ago, Atwell’s demo attracted record label attention. After being re-imagined by a couple of producers and labels, the band decided to record and release the single independently with producer Giles Barrett (John Grant, Johnny Flynn, Marika Hackman, Goat Girl) at Soup Studios in East London. On comparing the recording process to her debut, Atwell said “with these new tunes it was an entirely different experience - I have an amazing full-time band now who worked on these songs with me outside of the studio and so when it came time to record we just went into the studio and played the songs essentially” -

Man/Woman/Chainsaw are Billy Ward (vocals, guitars), Emmie-Mae Avery (vocals,keys/synths), Vera Leppänen (vocals, bass), Clio Starwood (violin) and Lola Cherry (drums).
A precociously talented band from London, who recently celebrated their 100th gig. Since their debut at 16 years old and across three self-released singles, the band have proven themselves as one of the most exciting and unpredictable young acts in the capital, both joyous and raucous in equal measures. Last year’s “What Lucy Found There” was to be their breakthrough, securing attention for the band from the likes of The Quietus, NME, The Line Of Best Fit, So Young, BBC 6 Music and more.
This November the band truly come of age with their debut EP, “Eazy Peazy”, to land on the indie taste-maker label Fat Possum Records. Recorded with Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox at Echo Zoo studio in Eastbourne, the group present us with cinematic arrangements, mauled by moments of cacophony; the band’s Billy Ward says of their writing process,“we thrive on the thin line between pretty and noisy, often trying to jump between the two-it’s that chaos that excites us.”
From the driving immediacy of opener “The Boss”, to the robust backbone of “SportsDay”, to the theatrical beauty of “Grow A Tongue In Time” and orchestral highlight “Ode To Clio”, the six track EP captures all the cerebral intensity, and celebratory melody, of the Man/Woman/Chainsaw live performance. It signals the start proper for a band who have been allowed to experiment, given the time to find their sound and line-up in a vibrant, supportive DIY community, and who will surely finish the year ready to take on the next with unbridled confidence. With boundless potential like theirs, you’d not bet against them.

THE NONE is a new band of lifelong musicians. Comprising bassist Gordon Moakes (Bloc Party, Young Legionnaire), vocalist Kai Whyte (Blue Ruth, Youth Man), guitarist Jim Beck (Cassels) and drummer Chris Francombe (Frauds), they make an uncompromising vision of noise rock with melody at its heart.
The band formed at the start of 2023 and bonded over hours in the rehearsal room – making noise, discussing shared obsessions, and, most importantly, playing together.
The anonymity of their name reflects a creative approach which favours egoless experimentation and open collaboration. This ethos, the combined decades of music making, and the unique musical identities of all four members can be clearly heard in the art they create.
Following their debut shows in February 2024, THE NONE have quickly built a reputation as a formidable live act – racking up shows with the likes of Mannequin Pussy, Les Savy Fav and Dream Wife, as well as sold out shows of their own and a string of festival appearances. They are now gearing up to support METZ on their final ever tour before capping off the year supporting Big Joanie.
