Metropolis Music Presents
Che Lingo
- Event Cancelled.
-
CHE LINGO has been touted as one of the most unique and exciting lyricist in the U.K. – A rapper with purpose and power.
Born and raised in Wandsworth (South West London), during the conception of UK Rap & Grime — Che started writing and making music in local youth clubs, not being able to afford recording time in professional studios but by age 16 had
been played on BBC radio.
Inspired by society, love, his own life journey and internal demons; the introspective, anime-loving wordsmith never misses a beat with his transparent melodic approaches, only trumped by his infectious flows and skillful rapping ability. Finding fans in Chris Martin, Wiley and a few more genre-defining legends, Che Lingo brings an authenticity believed to be long forgotten in UK Rap and hip hop culture.
After playing Glasto and SXSW in recent years, appearing on Colors, collaborating with U.S. rapper Mick Jenkins, Grime legend Ghetts and 2X Grammy winning producer and Kendrick Lamar confidant, LIKE; Che Lingo is now signed to Idris Elda’s label (7Wallace) and is the Guardian National Newspaper’s “ONE TO WATCH FOR 2020”. As he works on his debut album “The Worst Generation” set for release this winter, there seems to be no end to the ‘Wizard of Wandsworths’ star potential.
— CLASH; the 92’ born, Wandsworth resident encompasses all the best elements the UK Urban music has to offer.
