Fifty years of a timeless masterpiece.
Roy Ayers’ music has long been intertwined with Jazz Cafe — ever since we opened our doors, we’ve felt his influence and welcomed his spirit on our stage.
From block parties to bedrooms, record stores to radio waves, its title track has become one of the most recognisable and beloved songs in modern music. Released in 1976, Everybody Loves The Sunshine's blend of jazz, funk, soul and disco has inspired generations, sampled endlessly and soundtracked countless lives.
To mark its 50th anniversary, celebrated vibraphonist Orphy Robinson brings together an all-star line up, the Red Black & Green Ubiquity Ensemble.
Together, we step inside the album itself — the joy, the soul, the sunshine — as if hearing it for the first time all over again.
