    Acid Jazz

    Gallowstreet, the Dutch brass band with an attitude. Hailing from the Galgenstraat in Amsterdam they have refined their sound through the course of 5 albums.

    Over a decade of innovating brass music, Gallowstreet has been up and at it. Armed with 7 horn players and 1 drummer the bandemploys a wide range of musical genres to tell stories with their compositions, most of them beat driven, all of them with anthemic quality.

    Gallowstreet has proven to be a big inspiration for the emerging European Brass Band scene. There’s not a week that goes by without a video of one of the songs being covered by young enthusiastic brass bands from around the globe. Their songs have seen re-arrangements for a wide range of ensembles and Gallowstreet has been a consistent source of inspiration for other bands.

    With shows on Lowlands, North Sea Jazz, Bout Du Monde, in Algeria, Slowakia and Turkey and sold out clubshows in the famous Paradiso in Amsterdam and the legendary New Morning in Paris the band is a well-traveled, seasoned ensemble that knows the crack of the whip when it comes to playing big shows for large crowds.

    Born out of a desire to challenge convention, NEW CAR SMELL is for those who dare to dothings differently. By taking their instruments beyond their traditional boundaries; NEW CAR SMELL prove that what you have doesn’t define what you are. Tuba isn’t just classical, a sax isn’t confined to jazz,and DnB beats don’t have to be programmed. With music that redefines expectations, they blend the unexpected into a sound that’s fresh, organic, and alive. From underground and alternative venues in London and Bristol (Hootananny, The Jago, MrWolf's, Rich Mix) to major festivals like Boardmasters, Boomtown, and Camp Bestival; NEWCAR SMELL’s performances bring dance and groove music into a free-flowing, (literally) breathing space. Once described as "a punk trio disguised as a brass band," NEW CAR SMELL embody the spirit of risk and reinvention.
