GECKO CLUB came to life at the start of 2018. The 4-piece indie surf rock band hailing from London, consisting of James Neilson (vocals/guitar), Malte Henning (guitar), Jack Higgins (bass) and Jono Pamplin (drums), own an exotic sound and play an energetic set with deep grooves and dreamy melody lines.
They made their debut Totnes gig with us back in 2023 and we are over the moon that they wanted to make a return visit to us here at The Barrel House Ballroom. But very sad to learn that this will be one the bands final dates before they call it a day and say farewell.
So this really will be one of the very last chances you get to see this truly amazing exotic indie surf band. So get ready for them to inject the party back into your life and to be tickled one last time by their sweet, sunshine-infused surf-rock, reminiscent of artists such as Ocean Alley and Lime Cordiale.
Expect nothing less than one of their iconic, party-fuelled live sets!!
+ support POPPYSHOW who blend catchy pop melodies with genuine raw punk chaos, energy and charisma.
Message from GECKO CLUB ....
A message to all of our fans,
After an incredible 8 years, we’ve made the bittersweet decision to say goodbye. As a band, we’ve had the privilege of living out dreams we never thought possible — from touring the country to releasing music that has meant the world to us, and sharing moments of joy and connection with all of you. It’s been a journey filled with memories, laughter, and, of course, music.
But as much as it hurts to say, the time has come for us to call it a day. This decision hasn’t been easy, and it’s one we’ve thought long and hard about. It feels like the right moment to step away, knowing we’ve given everything we had to this chapter of our lives.
We want to take a moment to thank everyone who’s supported us along the way — our families, friends, and fans who have cheered us on, and made these years so special. Without you, none of this would have been possible. As a final goodbye we will be playing our biggest London show to date and hope you will join us for one last party! We will be announcing this on Tuesday!
We’ll carry these memories with us forever, and though this is the end of Gecko Club, it’s not the end of our love for music or for all of you. We’ll always be grateful for everything we’ve shared.
Thank you for everything.
