Geoff Tate is an American singer and songwriter, born January 14, 1959, in Stuttgart, Germany, who rose to fame as the lead vocalist for the progressive metal band Queensrÿche. He is known for his multi-octave vocal range and for the band's commercially successful albums, Operation: Mindcrime and Empire. After leaving Queensrÿche, he renamed his band Operation: Mindcrime and continues to tour and record music, with a career that also includes acting and composing.
