Gvllow blends the sonic and visual aesthetics of Punk Rock, Post Punk, 80s Goth,
and small undertones of Rap to create a sound that is fresh, diverse and
completely unique.
Born and raised in the Inland Empire of Riverside, California, he grew up in the So
Cal Punk scene.
He started playing drums at age nine and would go to The Showcase Theatre in
Corona, CA every weekend by the time he was 12 years old to watch bands such as
The Adicts, TSOL and Dr. Know
In 2015, he became involved in the burgeoning underground rap scene, DJing and
Producing for the likes of Ghostemane, JGRXXN, and Lil Peep in the group known
as Schemaposse.
Since then, he had gone on to perform as a touring DJ for City Morgue, as well as
release two solo albums; 2018's ' Waste Away' and ' Gvllow', released in July of
2020, which features guest appearances from the likes of Travis Barker, Brennan
Savage and Jack Grisham (TSOL) and has spawned singles "Fear", "Johnny Cash" and "Last Dance".
His sound shifted significantly in 2021 when he released the 'Spiritwalker' EP, the
release saw his stylistic expansion into post-punk and dark wave. Heavily
influenced by by the likes of Drab Majesty, Sisters Of Mercy and Bauhaus, the
transition began with highly acclaimed single "Fell In Love With A Ghost" with
Alternative Press who assert, "W hile he's headquartered in Southern California,
Gvllow certainly knows how to bring the darkness". The track was the first to be
released which also spawned single "Nightmare" and has continued throughout
the 'Spiritwalker' EP and his 2022 releases - "Die By Your Hand", "Falling Down",
"Not Sorry", And the Suffer Ep (2022) Gvllow has also been featured in the likes of Kerrang!, Revolver Magazine and Slipknot's media brand, Knotfest.com.
In February of 2024 marked the release of "Twin Flames," the latest album from
the multifaceted artist GVLLOW, who continues to defy genres with his unique
blend of music.
This body of work encompassed both the dark and the light of GVLLOW 's personal
journey, featuring a mix of re-recorded and re-mastered fan-favorite hits and new
material that underscores his evolution as an artist.
GVLLOW is still known to this day for being a hands on, self recording, and self
produced solo artist, along with graphic design that captures every aspect of his
creative and artistic mindset through his music and imagery.
With over 54 million streams on Spotify, 130,000 monthly listeners, and 3.8 Million
YouTube views, GVLLOW 's sonic evolution, was set to further cement his status as
an innovator, blending multiple genres into a sound that is both familiar and yet
fresh.
