From Puerto Rico, San Juan, Giovanni is arguably the world’s greatest living conga player. He has played with jazz legends Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner, Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, and Art Blakey as well as rock icons Paul Simon and Carlos Santana.

Not only has Giovanni Hidalgo completely transformed the hand techniques required to master the craft of conga playing, he has made possible a whole new language of expression.
