kokeshi was formed in 2017 by old friends Adel (Gt) and Kazuma (Dr), and later joined by Nana (Vo) and Junchi (Ba) to form the current lineup. They play unique blackened hardcore, mixing elements of black metal, screamo, shoegaze, post-rock etc. with a Japanese horror vibe, leaving the audience in awe.
In 2020, they self-released their first album “Doukei” and then signed with Tokyo Jupiter Records. After releasing one split record, they released the masterpiece “Reikoku”, which sold over 1,500 copies on CD. They also reissued the first album and released both albums on vinyl via Moment of Collapse in Germany.
In Japan, they have supported international artists such as Svalbard, Rolo Tomassi, Infected Rain, Hexis and Gillan Carter etc., and also have gained a passionate fan base through their live performances in Asian countries.
