Creating a unique blend of electronic indie dance music, Leisure Theory is the project of Irish producer, Jake Smith.
Releasing debut EP, “This Is My Password” in April 2019 to positive online acclaim, Leisure Theory began touring the UK and Ireland. Garnering notable experience supporting Welsh electronic producer, Rachel K Collier and playing at Stendhal Festival, Leisure Theory ended 2019 on a high with a sold-out headline Manchester performance.
Fast forward to 2020, Leisure Theory signed to new Manchester label, Most Joyous with work on EP II commencing sooner than expected following the cancellation of a string of shows throughout the UK and Ireland due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Smith, like many others found himself in the unique position to work on new music. The fruits of his labour were revealed in July 2020 with the release of second EP, ‘Deliverance’.
Receiving extensive international airplay on BBC Radio Ulster, Amazing Radio and Limbo Radio, the reception to Deliverance cemented Smith’s reputation as an exciting up and coming act.
Music Is My Radar – “Leisure Theory bring their eclectic sound to another level with these euphoric electro-pop tracks.”
It’s All Indie – “The new offering from Leisure Theory sounds like it's been written for those hazy smoke-filled festival tents at 2am. It's got a massive amount of atmosphere, wooden clicks, dreamy guitars that soar throughout the track and vocal lines that you can't help but sing back.”
Returning to the Gullivers stage in 2021, Smith is excited to finally debut live tracks from Deliverance and reveal new tracks completed during the lockdown period.
Deliverance is available worldwide through Most Joyous.
