ABOUT

The London Jazz Orchestra, one of London's musical treasures, opens its 35th season at the Vortex featuring the music of one of the great jazz writers, tenor saxophonist Pete Hurt.  A long-serving members of the band, Pete is an outstanding soloist and composer of numerous pieces for the LJO. His music is immediately identifiable, with its lyrical melodies, engaging harmonic progressions, and thrilling orchestrations, with lots of space for the band's soloists. Pete has written a new piece for the occasion!

In addition the gig will premier a new piece by trumpet great Henry Lowther, plus solo features created by director Scott Stroman for drummer Paul Clarvis, singer Brigitte Beraha, trombonist Martin Gladdish and saxophonist Martin Hathaway.

Join us for our new season of up-close-and-personal sessions!
