Lloyiso is a renowned singer-songwriter and producer hailing from Uitenhage, Eastern Cape, South Africa. He first gained national attention in 2015 as a contestant on the 11th season of "Idols South Africa," where he reached the top five.
Following his "Idols South Africa" journey, Lloyiso signed with Ambitiouz Entertainment in 2018, releasing tracks like "Nontsikelelo" and "Intliziyo" featuring Langa Mavuso. In 2021, he made history by becoming the first South African artist to sign with Republic Records in the United States.
In March 2023, Lloyiso released his debut EP, "Seasons," which was certified 6x Platinum and earned him three nominations at the South African Music Awards, winning Best Pop Album.
In September 2023, Lloyiso expanded his musical repertoire by collaborating with renowned Dutch DJ and producer Martin Garrix on the dance-pop track "Real Love." Garrix discovered Lloyiso through an online cover and was captivated by his vocal talent, leading to their collaboration. The two artists met in New York City, where they co-wrote and recorded "Real Love," blending Garrix's signature electronic sound with Lloyiso's signature soulful vocals.
This collaboration highlights Lloyiso's versatility across various musical genres. Primarily known for his work in R&B and Afro-pop, he has also explored genres such as soul, hip-hop, gospel, jazz, and reggae. Lloyiso's genre-spanning artistry not only showcases his vocal prowess but also his ability to connect with global audiences through varied musical expressions and a diverse discography, which includes heartfelt ballads like "Seasons" and dance anthems like "Real Love.”
Beyond his recordings, Lloyiso has performed at significant events, including Miss South Africa and the wedding of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz.
In May 2024, Lloyiso embarked on "The Elephant in the Room" Tour, a five-city journey across South Africa, reflecting his connection to his Xhosa clan name, Ndlovu, meaning "elephant." The tour quickly sold out, touching Pretoria (1500 capacity), Cape Town (1500 capacity), Ggeberha (1500 capacity), Mpumalanga (3500 capacity), and Johannesburg (two shows with 3,500 capacity each). The tour was not just a celebration of his vocal prowess but also a reflection of his rising stardom, as fans flocked to experience his electrifying live performances.
In 2025, Lloyiso inked a partnership with indie powerhouse, EMPIRE, and released his new singles “High” and “Higher”.
