LOYAL is a band, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma; but perhaps that’s the key. A Brighton-based collective whose ranks are occasionally swollen by a whole host of auxiliary members - including a five piece choir - to try and understand exactly what it is would be to miss the point. To listen to LOYAL is to enter a movie theatre halfway through the greatest film you never saw only to be instantly gripped and confounded at the same time.

The first glimmer of LOYAL released into the world was their euphoric and poignant single ‘Blue & The Green’. “This was the one that started it really,” says the act. The track was met with a fervent reaction online, amassing some half a million Soundcloud plays instantaneously through word of mouth alone (as well as a testimony from Pete Tong, who claimed the group give him “goosebumps”). The band went on to sign EP deals with taste-maker labels Good Years + IAMSOUND whose alumni include Charlie XCX, BANKS, Florence & The Machine, + Francis & The Lights. And their continued rise has recently led the group to their EP release ‘Light Up For You’. The buzz surrounding the EP brought the group to BBC Radio 1’s studios for in TWO highly-coveted Maida Vale live sessions whereby radio host MistaJam proclaimed “You are amazing live, seriously amazing”. The group has begun touring across the UK, and 2017 saw them breaking into the festival market with stand-out plays at Great Escape + Bestival. LOYAL’s 2018 begins with new music in-hand and a brand new live show that’s already sold out dates in London and beyond.
