Bassist and vocalist Michael Henderson takes us through his rich musical history with Motown Records and more in a rare London show.

There aren’t many musicians in the world that can say that by the time they were 16 they’d either recorded or performed with Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, The Temptations, and Marvin Gaye… just to name a few. Considered a “music prodigy and phenomenon” when he learned to play bass guitar at 12 years old, at the same age he was playing with the famed Detroit Emeralds and not long after that was doing Motown recording sessions.

During his six years playing bass for Miles Davis in the 70s Michael was also releasing hits on Buddah Records. Classics ‘You Are My Starship’ and ‘Valentine Love’ were produced with Norman Connors, while Phyllis Hyman’s first top ten hit 'Can't We Fall In Love Again?' was a duet between the two.

With timeless tracks like ‘Wide Receiver’, ‘Let Love Enter’, ‘At The Concert’, ‘Take Me, I'm Yours’, ‘Be My Girl’ and so many more, this is an unmissable chance to see a funk, soul and r&b pioneer in action.
