This April, join us as we invite a collection of London's most talented jazz musicians and ardent Shorter fans to celebrate the character and music of Wayne Shorter.

Though some will argue about whether Shorter’s primary impact on jazz has been as a composer or as a saxophonist, hardly anyone will dispute his overall importance as one of jazz’s leading figures over a near 7 decade career.

A fascinating musician who's career to date finds him at the centre of most major jazz movements and protagonists from his Jazz Messenger days  to playing and composing for Miles Davis throughout the 60s, to founding fusion supergroup Weather Report with Joe Zawinul.

Expect to hear standout tracks and cult favourites from across Shorter's career as a composer and a player including his masterpiece album 'Juju' plus songs such as Miles Davis' Footprints and E.S.P plus work with Herbie Hancock and his own great Blue Note sessions.

Lineup:
Jonathan Chung - Tenor
Dave Shulman - Alto and clarinet
Jean de Talhouët - guitar
Rupert Cox - keys
Huw V Williams - Double bass
Joost Hendricks - drums
