POISONED ELECTRICK HEAD – named after possibly one of the most obscure BONZOS lyrics, (from the closing lines of ‘My Pink Half of the Drainpipe’ no less), have been part of British counterculture since their inception in the North Western industrial wastelands of ST HELENS in the mid 1980s. Due to their eclectic mix of DEVO and DADA they very quickly emerged as one of the most prominent bands of the notorious Free Festival circuit of the 80s and 90s. A cultural phenomena who threatened the incumbent Tory Govt of the time so much that an entire law – The Criminal Justice Bill – was placed on the statute books in an attempt to put a stop to ‘gatherings of more than 4 people’ listening to ‘repetitive beats’. However, even Maggie Thatcher and Rhodes Boysen were no match for ‘Lecky Head’s coal faced coalescence of Northern grit. The Liverpool Prog Society and PROG Magazine are proud to announce that on Nov 2nd these ‘GRANDPARENTS OF PRONK’ (PROG-PUNK) shall return to the stage to ‘refill’ their ground breaking 1987 demo ‘DRINK ME’ in all its demented and glorious majesty.
