Edinburgh’s husband-and-wife dream pop duo Sarah/Shaun (pronounced simply Sarah Shaun), alias Sarah and Shaun McLachlan (pronounced McLochlun) announce new four-track EP In Silence Love Speaks Loudest for exclusive release via the label’s Bandcamp this December and more general release in January

Sarah/Shaun wooed hearts and wowed critics with debut EP It’s True What They Say? last year plus follow-up EP Someone’s Ghost in April of this year.  In Silence Love Speaks Loudest completes a triptych of EPs to be released by the band who expect to release a further, full album next year.

Added to the sizable list of plaudits for debut EP It's True What They Say? (David Holmes, Youth, Nemone on 6Music, Sean Johnston, Vic Galloway & Roddy Hart (BBC Radio Scotland), The Skinny, The List, The Scotsman, Jim Sclavunos (Bad Seeds), Simone Butler (Primal Scream), Monolith Cocktail, Ban Ban Ton Ton - see below for details), the roll call of higher profile fans of the band just keeps growing: Rosalie Cunningham personally invited them to support her at the MacArts Centre, Galashiels; Nadine Shah caught both Edinburgh shows in April; Pete Kember aka Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3) recently asked to remix the song Filter Of Love (coming soon - watch this space), Sydney’s Roy Molloy (Alex Cameron/Marvellous Crane) interviewed the band on his radio show in Australia and has now delivered stirring live saxophone for the new EP; Anthony ‘Doggen’ Foster (Spiritualized) plays guitar on the new record, while Kevin Bales (Spiritualized) has given both EPs a resounding thumbs up, among many more...

They’ve played gigs supporting French legends Air, Glaswegian 80s pop legends The Bluebells (who personally invited Sarah/Shaun to join them on a string of Scottish tour dates in 2024), Glasgow's huge Glasvegas, a slew of venues across Glasgow and Edinburgh, not to mention the festivals: Kelburn Garden Party, Fringe By The Sea, Kendall Calling, Dunbar Music, Hidden Door.

Playing live as a five-piece, the full Sarah/Shaun band embarks on a short series of UK tour dates this Autumn, including a Newcastle debut at The Cluny (headlining) and a London debut opening for Miniseries at the Betsey Trotwood.  With a date confirmed at The Golden Lion in Todmorden in April ‘26, they plan to embark on a more substantial UK tour in the Spring.

“blending the starry-eyed pop of Sonny & Cher with the electronic experimentation of Chris & Cosey”
Fiona Shepherd (The List)
