Join us to celebrate 2 days of brand-new plays by 5 of Scotland’s most exciting new voices in writing.

Emerging writers Amina Aaliya Beg, Elliot Scott, Isaac Frost, Lola Rose Wood and Poppy Hope Smith have worked alongside award-winning playwright Douglas Maxwell to push their creative boundaries and craft 5 original short plays for the A Play, A Pie and A Pint stage.

Directed by Fiona Mackinnon and performed by emerging young actors, these early-stage plays invite you to question, examine and absorb the compelling stories these young writers have to tell. Stories that explore identity, belonging and possibility in Scotland’s evolving new writing landscape.

West (Cow)lder
Written by Amina Aaliya Beg
Three Deen High students join a high-stakes hiking trip promising a Hajj package and fast-track university entry. Lost in the countryside, they confront violent storms and stubborn cows, uncovering their fears about nature, faith, friendship and the wild’s unpredictable humour.

British Wildlife
Written by Isaac Frost
A secluded public path. A camera lens. A local MP. And a pair of very nice red stilettos. British Wildlife is a short play about public spaces, private lives and the fallout of a very well-timed photo.

Please note: Plays will be performed once on one of the allocated dates. If you wish to see all plays, attendance at both performance dates is required. Exact performance line-ups will be announced in the coming weeks.
