Scottish indie pop outfit Sergeant burst onto the scene during the noughties guitar boom as teenagers, quickly earning a major label deal with Mercury Records. Renowned for their melodic hooks and energetic live shows, Sergeant toured with legends including Oasis, Supergrass, Happy Mondays, The Fratellis, and Jamie T, and graced iconic festivals like T in the Park, Reading & Leeds, and Glastonbury.
Their debut album—produced by the acclaimed John Leckie (The Stone Roses, Radiohead)—was recorded at Rockfield in Wales, RAK Studios in London, and Abbey Road. With critical acclaim and a devoted following, the band ultimately stepped away in 2010, bowing out with a sold-out, 1,400-capacity hometown show.
Having reformed at the end of 2024, Sergeant have reignited their spark, selling out every show and releasing long-lost B-sides to a warm welcome from fans. The future looks bright with a long-awaited vinyl release of their debut album and new music on the way.
Why do we have a restoration Levy?
Put very simply, our restoration levy is an additional charge added to your ticket price which is directly invested back into the venue. This money is used for critical maintenance, repairs, and preservation efforts to ensure the long-term sustainability of the building.
As the 3rd oldest church building in Glasgow, dating back to 1836, Saint Luke's requires ongoing care and special restoration to maintain its historic character and facilities. This levy will enable us to fund essential projects that will safeguard the venue's future as a vibrant hub for live music and community events.
If you would like to be kept up to date on progress with how we are using this fund then please follow us on social media @stlukesglasgow, and sign up to our mailing list where we will send out quarterly updates on the improvements that your donations are helping us make.
