Born between worlds, Somi reshapes jazz from the ground up.

The daughter of Rwandan and Ugandan immigrants, raised between Illinois and Zambia, Somi has emerged as a Grammy-nominated vocalist whose sound fuses the intimacy of East African folk with the improvisational spirit of New York jazz.

Since her breakthrough with Red Soil in My Eyes (2007) to the Grammy-nominated Holy Room, she’s crafted a singular sonic language – blending African rhythm, vocal subtlety, and cinematic storytelling.

A rare chance to experience one of the most fearless and affecting voices in contemporary jazz.
