“There are only three things happening in England. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Terry Reid.” - Aretha Franklin (1968)
Terry Reid is widely regarded as one of the greatest vocalists this country has ever produced.
Starting his career as a teenager touring with The Rolling Stones, Reid went on to support Cream, The Beatles, and Fleetwood Mac. He famously turned down the chance to front both Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, choosing instead to forge his own path, releasing a string of cult classic solo albums.
With renewed interest in his work thanks to recent reissues, albums like River and Seed of Memory are being rediscovered for their rich blend of progressive, funky folk-blues — the timeless sound that defines Reid at his best.
