Message from the band....
"We are devastated to announce that The Awakening’s Dark Carnival UK Tour has been cancelled due to injury. Ironically, the injury occurred while trying to get to the UK yesterday. I spent a stressful day, mostly stuck on the runway in a plane waiting to take off from St. Louis to connect in Chicago, which was hit by bad weather. My plane never left St. Louis, my connection was missed, and during one of the chaotic times we had to board and deboard, I injured my back while moving luggage.
The Awakening has never had to cancel a tour before. So much work, love, energy, time, money and passion have gone into setting this one up, only to have this happen. I especially want to thank our team who worked so hard to bring The Awakening to the UK: Victoria and Mark from Rebel Meets Rebel Live booking agency, all the promoters and venues, our tour manager, Eva, Michael Ciravolo and Schecter Guitars, and, of course, all our fans who continue to be so generous with your love and support.
Tickets will be refunded from the point of purchase. My sincere apologies to everyone affected."
The Awakening - Cancelled

Outstanding pioneers of alternative music and darkwave icons THE AWAKENING bring their unique brand of gothic rock, atmospheric post-punk, industrial and electronic music, with a full band, and a stage performance unlike any other. To any fans of Darkwave, Industrial and Goth, THE AWAKENING is a must see experience.
Founded in 1995, THE AWAKENING have released 11 studio albums, and following on the success of 2025’s ‘HAUNTING’ tour across Europe and North America, founder and visionary artist Ashton Nyte is bringing THE AWAKENING experience back to the UK for a full tour.
Their style is described as ‘hard electronics and chunky guitars, with a strong dance-floor undercurrent’ - what’s not to love? Expect an immersive performance comprised of Ashton’s famed commanding baritone vocals, dark soundscapes and noir-styled sonic architecture.
Support on the tour will be from UK’s BLACK LAKES - who deliver a superb live performance and their dark, edgy vibe is the perfect compliment to THE AWAKENING’s avant-garde drama. BLACK LAKES recently picked up the HRH award for ‘Rising Stars’ of 2025. With music that deliberately smashes the boundary between melodic introspection and cathartic intensity, their music hits hard, with a stage show to match.

Formed in 2018, black lakes create a sound that deliberately blurs the boundaries between hard rock and alternative metal, drawing on a wide range of influences from across both scenes.
Based on the strength of a well received debut ep, the band successfully crowdfunded the production their debut album 'For All We've Left Behind' which was released in February of 2022 to critical acclaim.
Produced by premier rock and metal producer Romesh Dodangoda, the album achieved several notable accolades, including being named album of the year by four media outlets including Erb Magazine and East London Radio. the singles from F.A.W.L.B enjoyed extensive airplay across national radio including Kerrang, Erb, Planet Rock and the BBC.
The album was further bolstered by features in printed press, including articles in Fireworks, Power Play & Emerging Rock Bands Magazine.
The band have worked hard to build a reputation as a captivating live act, picking up new fans from across the uk and are always striving to build on their previous shows to create something bigger and better for their growing fanbase to enjoy.
Dead gods | the future
Following the success of their crowdfunding campaign, and as a reaction to fan demand for more new music, the band ran a pre-order campaign via their own webstore to fund the production of their sophomore album. the respose was overwhelming, raising over £8,000 throughout the duration of the appeal.
Once again working with Romesh Dodangoda, the band recorded the new album, ‘Dead Gods’ in late 2023 and have now set a release date as 06.09.2024.
The singles ‘White Cliffs’ & ‘Hurricane’ have once again seen the band featured on national radio across the uk as well as internationally.
As the release of their Sophomore album looms ever closer, Black Lakes show no signs of slowing down, and remain dedicated to the crowds they see grow larger at every show.
In June of this year, they were the recipients of the best punk/metal band award at the 2024 Newport Radio Awards.
