FFO: Dirty vintage rock n roll; the bastard lovechild of Black Crowes vs Aerosmith with a step-sibling of Greta Van Fleet

Formed during the Covid pandemic buy a bunch of long-time school hood friends and musical acquaintances, The Karma Effect, are a 21st Century take on a classic 70s rock, roll n soul sound; big on keys, guitar riffs and huge vocal melody, all combining into a grandiose sonic soundscape that draws upon the best of yesteryear. Their debut album epitomises this philosophy. It’s a no-nonsense throwback, encapsulating the energy of good time, arena, rock n roll, brought bang up to date.

The album, The Karma Effect, featured 8 scintillating songs, written in solitary bedrooms and over zoom calls as the world tackled the desperate viral pandemic… songs that have capturing hearts and minds across the UK with a passionate, full-throttle live show.

Their debut album had everything that appeals to fans of real Rock ’n’ Roll - a tight and groovy rhythm section, infectious guitar riffs, and soaring vocal melodies, the band left no stone unturned in creating a sound equally fit for sweaty clubs or huge arenas.

Now, the anticipation builds for album two, slated for release in early 2024.

Recent highlights include…

  • Sold out shows with Massive Wagons

  • Sold out shows across the UK including Blackpool, Stoke, Gravesend, Oxted & London

  • Summer main stage appearances at ALL of the main UK hard rock festivals… LoveRocks, Call Of The Wild, HRH, Winter’s End, Steelhouse, Stonedead 2023

  • Inclusion NWOCR Vol 2 album

  • Headline tour booked for Sept – Nov 2023

What they say about The Karma Effect:
“This is the sort of robust, hooky rock’n’roll that any 70s throwback group ought to aspire to these days; plus it’s got a bit of a rootsy aftertaste that sets it off very nicely. And with frontman Henry Gottelier singing his heart out like a man at his last show, it would take a harder soul than us to not warm to them.”
Polly Glass - Classic Rock Magazine

“The London quintet are soaked in the free-flowing vibe that was born out of the psychedelic late Sixties and toughened up the following decade, the whisky dipped and loose-limbed swagger here in no uncertain terms.”
Paul Monkhouse - MetalPlanetMusic

“What you get with The Karma Effect is a melting pot of The Black Crowes, Dirty Honey, Bad Touch etc, with just the right amount of all the necessary elements, be it the guitar sound, the keyboards or the backing vocals etc. Highly Recommended!”
Dan Mann - RockPoser.com
