And that's exactly what Run The Jewels producer Little Shalimar went for on her new album ‘Lacuna’. Never resting on her musical lineage, Brooklyn-based Trixie Whitley has crafted a unique personal and artistic identity since her on stage debut at age 3 alongside father Chris Whitley. And while his early passing as well as several childhood experiences propelled her into adulthood faster than she could process, they certainly added to the depth of her vulnerability, honesty, and sense of exploration.

Over the years her captivating personality and talent have triggered collaborations with the likes of Daniel Lanois and Brian Blade – who enlisted her to front their supergroup Black Flag – Robert Plant, Marianne Faithful, Meshell Ndegeocello, Daryl Johnson, Emmylou Harris, Marc Ribot, Joe Henry, Bill Frisell, Sam Amidon, Thomas Bartlett, the Resistance Revival Chorus and many more. Most recently she also collaborated with Kid Koala on his latest release ‘ Music To Draw To: Io ’, out on Arts & Crafts since January 25th.
