With his captivating voice, raw guitar work, and deeply personal songwriting, Tommy has built a reputation for delivering unforgettable live performances. His unique sound blends the best of soul, blues, and folk influences, –infused with a mastery of songwriting, learnt from obsessively listening to the old heroes; Bob Dylan, Townes Vans Zandt, Van Morrison and delivered with a powerful freight train voice reminiscence of singers like Ray Charles and Otis Redding.
This summer Tommy will release his debut record, recorded both with Kitty and Lewis Durham (from the acclaimed family roots band Kitty, Daisy and Lewis) and Polestar Studios (ran by members of the iconic band Penetration) –straight to tape, the real way. His songs cover everything from country ballads to soul anthems, all delivered with tongue-in-cheek humour and a passion for his craft.Tommy will be touring the release in September and plans to announce dates this Spring to coincide with a series of special guest UK appearances with international psych-blues outfit DeWolff (NL), Texan singer-songwriter David Ramirez (USA) and cult punk rockers, The Mekons (UK).
"His vocal power and energy is like the Flying Scotsman locomotive steaming through the highlands ... we whispered to each other, we’ve got to cut this cat ... We would also drink together every evening professing our love for Elvis Presley and Jim Reeves. He prefers a neat whiskey with his beer, and in the morning his coffee as black as the minute the lights go out in a cheap motel” Lewis Durham, from Kitty, Daisy and Lewis
